Marjorie  Simpson, 50 year old Caucasian female. Full code. Allergies as noted. Fall risk secondary to altered gait due to leg ulcers, which were positive staphylococcal aureus. She was admitted with cellulitis of the lower extremities with diabetic leg ulcers, positive for staphylococcal aureus. Mrs. Simpson is a Type I diabetic and her glucose is not well controlled. By her own admission she does not adhere well to her diet. She is on a 1800 calorie ADA diet with a dietary consult pending. Mrs. Simpson’s past medical history includes hypertension and an anxiety disorder. Wound care is seeing her for her dressings. Her husband and children have been visiting, but they do not participate in her care and were unaware of the extent of her leg ulcers. 

One day ago she developed frequent diarrhea. Cultures sent. She is positive for Clostridium difficile.

You do not appreciate any significant issues on your head to toe exam except for ulcers. You are going in to pass your morning meds. You have taken your VS and checked your labs. (Review these results and consider their implications.)
